    As Vice President this position will be responsible for leading and expanding Mitchell’s media relations practice area and coordinating multi-office media activities.  To succeed in this role, you’ll need a passion for driving media strategy and planning that provides relevant and resonate media coverage for Mitchell’s clients.  You will stay ahead of newsroom trends in partnership with our social team to provide comprehensive media coverage through a combination of strong media and influencer relationships and insightful information and opportunities to ensure media coverage is on strategy, on time, and within budget. The right candidate will possess a proven track record and existing relationships with earned media outlets, key reporters and editors to position clients’ work successfully.


    We are looking for a strong leader with the ability to collaborate and contribute within an integrated content team.


    • Serve as Mitchell’s national media relations expert
    • Establish agency-wide media objectives and goals and is involved in policy-making decisions
    • Provide strategic direction and operational standards to all media operations, and assure that client teams are kept aware of new/significant developments in all areas covered by the media function
    • Accountable for maintaining strong media relationships and partnerships
    • Foster innovative solutions within the earned media landscape
    • Identify short-term and long-term media engagement opportunities and alert key stakeholders so they can take action
    • Measure media impact and results against measurement approach using best-in-class tools that assist future media strategy and planning
    • Hire, manage and develop team members; assure media staff is trained and follows standardized media and operating procedures
    • Attend appropriate professional/social functions to meet media representatives and maintain awareness of changes within the media industry as they may affect our areas of interest and which might afford opportunities for business growth
    • Assist in the development of new business, as requested, including client presentations of media-related plans and programs
    • Oversee the formation of quality media and market research plans, strategies, and programs for major clients
    • Maintain a thorough awareness of trends and tools in the local and national media environment
    • Aid in the maintenance of client awareness regarding the scope, depth, and effectiveness of the media services provided by the agency
    • Conduct internal audits of the media performance in each office
    • Publish summary reports in the media services area for executive-level reviews





    ·         Must be an industry leader with at least 12+ years of media experience

    ·         Extensive knowledge in public relations and media relations

    ·         Must have strong interpersonal skills to foster optimal relationships

    ·         Excellent communications skills, both written and oral

    ·         Great presentation skills with ability to pitch new business

    ·         Team builder with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
