    The Senior Vice President of the Corporate Practice is responsible for providing strategic counsel and overseeing a team that supports clients in brand reputation, internal communications, crisis and issues management, corporate social responsibility, executive training, employee engagement and general corporate affairs.   This position, which reports to the agency CEO, actively engages in successful communications strategies for clients, building and fostering client relationships, new business development and successful team development.    This position is responsible for and setting and realizing financial goals for the Corporate Practice.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee and drive P&L for Corporate Practice including managing the strategy, planning, direction and coordination of the vision and business plan for the practice.
    • Drive operational excellence with in the practice to achieve revenue, profit and other financial targets set for the business.
    • Oversee and champion all aspects of client services for the Corporate Practice including championing and ensuring best-in-class services to ensure optimum client experiences.
    • Oversee and accountable for high-level relations with all clients, including overall client satisfaction and management of expectations to ensure work is completed on strategy, on time and within budget. Build and maintain senior-level relations with clients.
    • Provide high level public relations counsel and guidance, based on solid understanding of client business across industry sectors.
    • Provides support, management, direction and guidance to Corporate Practice area team members.
    • New business cultivation – identifying opportunities, assisting with pitching our agency to prospective clients, collaborating with new business team on preparation of pitch materials and securing the win!
    • Provides strategic brand reputation counsel for clients across the agency.
    • Serve as a counselor and trusted advisor to client CEOs and senior executive teams.
    • Mentors staff members and monitors and manages direct report’s development, career paths, performance reviews and hiring.
    • Represent the agency through participation in industry forums, thought leadership, events and outward facing opportunities.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; preferred areas: communications, public relations, journalism or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in public relations for complex organizations.
    • Experience in corporate communications, internal communications, employee engagement, corporate social responsibility, executive positioning, media relations, C-level exposure and community relations is required.
    • Prior agency experience preferred.
    • P&L experience required.
    • Proven leadership ability – managed a team while exhibiting values-based leadership practices.
    • Comfortable in a very fast-paced and changing environment.
    • Strong business acumen required.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability lead and to work well in a team environment. 
    • Reliable, deadline and detail-oriented.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including knowledge of AP style and journalistic preferences.
    • Outstanding presentation and public speaking presence.
