We are currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our award-winning team. The ideal candidate for this position will provide help desk support to end users on a variety of issues and be able to identify, research, and resolve technical problems. They will also respond to phone calls, emails, and personal requests for technical support and track and monitor the problem to ensure timely resolution. The IT Support Specialist will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines, act with a sense of urgency for all internal client requests while offering excellent customer service. The position reports to the IT Manager and assists and supports agency operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots hardware, network, software, printer, and related issues that arise for end users within local and remote offices. Researches, resolves, and logs all calls and requests to track and document solutions. 
  • Sets up and configures end-user desktop and laptop computer hardware, software, phones, cell phones, printers, and peripherals. Sets up offices and rooms for webinars, meetings, presentations, and conferences. 
  • Develops training materials and procedures to train users in the proper use of hardware and software. Helps prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommends improvements or upgrades. Stays abreast of emerging technology and trends. 
  • Manages inventory of deployed company equipment and software and tracks all issues to aid in determining solutions to recurring problems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have one to three years related experience.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, Windows and MacOS operating systems.
  • Knowledge of virtualized Microsoft Server environments and SQL experience preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve on-site and remote computer problems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality and the ability to effectively handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to ask appropriate and meaningful questions to gain a clear understanding of technical issues and use the information to determine the most appropriate urgency and course of action.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities and frequent interruptions positively.
